Foundation University's gift to the gentle people of Negros Oriental

Foundation University, together with the other Philippine academic institutions, joins the De La Salle University-Bacolod as it celebrates its Centennial Year in 2013. The celebratory sporting event is the prestigious University Games (UniGames) which opens on Sunday, November 17, 2013–the same date of “Rice is Life” Dumaguete Adventure Marathon.

The organizers of DAM would like to inform the running community that in support of the UniGames, the date of the race is moved a week earlier, on Sunday, November 10, 2013.

It is further announced that a bike race over the same “adventure” route of the 42.195km full marathon is added to make the event more interesting and challenging for both runners and bikers. Please watch for further announcements regarding this special race dedicated to an advocacy promoting conservation as a strategy to meeting one of the Millennium Development Goal–the eradication of hunger and to achieve rice and food sustainability. The Department of Agriculture and the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilIrice) are government partners of this marathon race with a special advocacy. Please continue to support with your participation the “Rice is Life” Dumaguete Adventure Marathon, scheduled on Sunday, November 10, 2013.

The DAM 2013 launch will be held on Wednesday, March 20 at the Robinson’s Dumaguete Place at 6 p.m. See you there!

Testimonials

DAM is one of the best full marathon I have ever done. The race route was very challenging and you have to make your run strategy once you are already on the road. Many young elite runners got burned out because they forced themselves to run full speed up and down the very steep road/trail... the art of force conservation must be employed here. Hats off to the race organizers for a well organized race and for planning the crazy route!!!!
