Dumaguete 28.3 km Adventure Marathon
The Dumaguete 28.3 Km Adventure Marathon will run through the breathtaking scenic countryside roads of the Municipalities of Sibulan and Valencia and the flat roads of Dumaguete City.

COURSE:
The 28.3-km is the estimated actual distance loop course. It was posted first that it will start at the M. Perdices Stadium covering a 25-km distance but recently the City requested to start at the Rizal Avenue fronting the historic City Bay front. The full course is a combination of 14-km uphill-downhill dirt and graded gravel roads through the scenic countryside roads of Barangay Calabnugan in Sibulan crosses the Camanjac-Calabnugan Bridge over the Ocoy River going to Brgy. Balili-Cambucad roads northern part Valencia, run along Ocoy River down to Barangays Pulangbato and Palinpinon (some roads will be sprayed with water to prevent dust) and 13-km flat paved road of Dumaguete City Barangays Looc-coastal road, Piapi, Bantayan, Pulang-tubig and Candau-ay, Camanjac and all the way to the finish line. Paved road from the start to finish for 10-K, 5-K & 3-K kiddie run.
TURNING POINTS AND MARKERS
Kilometre Markers, Directional Signs and Course Marshals will guide runners all throughout the 28 km course. Loop Tag “Wristband baller”-no baller at finish line will be disqualified, and Checkpoint Marshals will write down all race numbers to check all the runners pass throughout the loop. Turning points at kilometre 15.7 for 28-km, kilometre 6.7 for the 10-km and kilometre 3.6-km for the 5-km road runs.
FLUID STATIONS AND MEDICAL SERVICES:
Water and Sports Drinks for the 28km will be alternately set-up at the following kilometers: Water stations will be at km 5, 8, 9.5, 10, 10.5, 11.5, 12, 12.5, 14, 14.5, 16, 18, 20, 23, 26, and 27 kilometre points. Sports drinks are available at km 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21. All stations will be handled by the Philippine National Red Cross (Negros Oriental Chapter) trained Red Cross Youth (RCY) and the Barangay Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) volunteers. Refreshment and Carbo-recovery at Finish Line.
Oriental Negros Emergency Rescue (ONE Rescue) and Energy Development Corporation (EDC) will provide the emergency requirements of the course. Six (6) stations will be manned with Rotary Medical Doctors with four (4) standby ambulances. Two (2) Off Road Rescue Vehicles will serve the 14-km country road course.
Urinals will be at random from starting line to the entire course to cater excited runners, over-hydrated and walkers.
REGISTRATION:
Registration is open until Saturday, November 21, 2009 and closes at 5:00 pm. You may register on-line at the event website until Friday, November 19, 2009. Visit registration sites at the following schedules and venues:

RACE PACKETS:
The 28-Km race packet is made of 100% re-cycled cloth sling bag to carry: (1) race map, (2) event information, (3) “Rice is Life” runner’s singlet, (4) race number with pull tags and (5) “Rice is Life” baller. Race Packet pick-up schedules and venues:

CATEGORY, CHECK-IN & ASSEMBLY:
All participants must check-in before entering the designated assembly areas behind the stating line. Only runners wearing the “Rice is Life” baller and official singlet will be allowed to check-in and enter the assembly areas.

I have a concern regarding this… some of the runners have their own preferred singlets to wear during the runs, specially those who belong to a running club. i understand that’s a rule but would you still not allow those who wear other singlets but have paid for the registration? thnx…

All 28k runners must wear baller upon check-in and have your check-in tag detached from your bib number at the check-in booth.
